Are truffles really an aphrodisiac? Why were pigs replaced by dogs on the hunt? Can truffles really only be collected in the early morning? Our truffle hunter and her dog will open the door to the secret world of truffles. Together we will set out into the hidden corners of the woods, where with a bit of luck amongst the tree roots we will find our fragrant tubers. After the hunt, we will spoil ourselves with tipical Istrian pasta fuži with truffles accompanied by a glass of wine from the local winemaker.

From an agreed location (Portorož, Koper, Izola or Piran), we head to the Istrian hinterland to meet Sara the truffle hunter and her dog Lisa, who are waiting for us at the edge of the forest, ready to go truffle hunting. After being shown the ins and outs of truffle hunting, we also treat ourselves to the truffles we find. We enjoy fuži (Istrian pasta) with truffles, accompanied by a glass of wine from a local winemaker, Refošk and Malvazija are staples. With full stomachs we head back to the meeting point.

The excursion is suitable as a half day or full day trip through Istria, individually, for closed groups or families with children. We can add lunch, additional tastings (olive oil, wine, seasonal fruits or seasonal herbs) or customise the content for a teambuilding event.
