Koper is home to places where you can spoil yourself with excellent homemade chocolate, local beer and wine, Istrian prosciutto, homemade pasta and ice cream. Let’s find them together. Have you already tried the herb salt from the unique Sečovlje salt-pans, the northernmost operating salt-pans in the Mediterranean? We invite you on a trip around the “island of goats”. This culinary walk around Koper is a unique way to get to know the history of Istria through its tastes.
Koper is a Mediterranean city with a colourful history. During the walk through medieval Koper we get to learn about the city and its stories through its rich cultural heritage. We not only look at Koper, but also taste it and experience its aromas. While wandering around, we stop at four selected locations and try local specialities: Istrian Bakala (fish spread), olive oil, cheese, Istrian wine, ice cream or krostata (pie) and a cup of coffee (or tea). At snacks we will try Malvazija, a typical wine of Istrian winemakers. Adding the tasting of various unique flavours of salt from the Piran salt-pans … and the day is perfect.
The excursion is suitable as a half day or full day trip through Istria, individually, for closed groups or families with children. We can add lunch or customise the content for a teambuilding event.
